London-based consumer technology brand Nothing has officially unveiled the Nothing Phone 4b, the first smartphone in its new (b) series, offering a more affordable entry into the Nothing ecosystem. Positioned below the Phone (4a) lineup, the device combines the brand’s signature transparent-inspired design with upgraded hardware, advanced AI-powered search capabilities, and its largest-ever smartphone battery.

The Nothing Phone 4b is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 processor, features the redesigned Glyph Bar, and runs Nothing OS 4.1 based on Android 16. It also introduces new AI features, including native ChatGPT integration, alongside improvements in camera performance, gaming, and battery life to deliver a smarter overall user experience.

Nothing Phone 4b RCB Edition featuring a red finish, Glyph Bar design, and dual rear cameras

New design combines familiar Nothing aesthetics

The Nothing Phone 4b blends two design elements previously introduced across the Phone (4a) lineup—the Glyph Bar from the Phone (4a) and the unibody construction of the Phone (4a) Pro. According to Nothing, the final design was selected after more than 20 internal prototypes.

The smartphone features a soft polymer camera housing that transitions into an eco-polycarbonate unibody with a three-layer protective coating. Nothing says the handset can withstand up to 600 Newtons of bending force and carries an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance.

The Phone (4b) will be available in Black, White, and Blue colour options.

Limited Edition Phone 4b RCB variant announced

To celebrate Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s second IPL title, Nothing has also unveiled a Phone (4b) RCB Edition in partnership with the franchise.

The limited-edition smartphone features a distinctive red finish with RCB branding, exclusive collector’s packaging, and will be sold only through a one-day drop at Nothing’s flagship store in Bengaluru. The company is currently one of the franchise’s principal sponsors.

Upgraded Glyph Bar with brighter LED lighting

Nothing’s signature rear lighting system returns in the form of an improved Glyph Bar featuring 45 individually controlled mini-LEDs capable of reaching up to 3,500 nits of brightness.

The Glyph Bar continues to provide visual alerts for incoming notifications, charging status, countdown timers, music visualisations, and other system interactions while maintaining the brand’s distinctive design identity.

Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 powers the Nothing Phone 4b

The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 4, a 4nm processor designed to deliver improved efficiency and AI performance.

According to Nothing, the chipset achieves an AnTuTu benchmark score exceeding one million and integrates Qualcomm’s sixth-generation AI Engine for on-device photography enhancements, voice recognition, and AI-powered features.

Largest battery ever in a Nothing smartphone

One of the biggest highlights of the Nothing Phone 4b is its 6,000mAh battery, making it the largest battery ever fitted to a Nothing smartphone.

Nothing claims the battery is 11% larger than the unit found in the Phone (4a) Pro and has been specifically optimised for Indian users.

The company says it delivers:

  • Up to 18 hours of mixed usage
  • Up to 22 hours of video playback
  • Up to 26 hours of social media browsing

The battery is also rated to retain up to 90% of its original capacity after 1,200 charging cycles.

The Phone (4b) supports 33W wired fast charging, capable of charging the battery to 50% in under 30 minutes, according to the company.

Improved cooling for gaming and sustained performance

To improve thermal management, Nothing has equipped the Phone (4b) with a 4,400mm² vapour chamber cooling system.

The company claims the cooling solution keeps the device up to 2°C cooler than its predecessor during demanding workloads while supporting sustained gaming performance of up to 90fps in supported titles and 120fps in select games.

50MP camera with TrueLens Engine 4

Photography duties are handled by a 50MP primary camera equipped with both Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and Electronic Image Stabilisation (EIS).

The rear camera is paired with a 119-degree ultra-wide lens and an ambient light sensor. Nothing says its upgraded TrueLens Engine 4 processes up to 13 RAW frames for every image to improve dynamic range through its Ultra XDR imaging technology.

The smartphone also supports:

  • 4K video recording at 30fps
  • Simultaneous front and rear camera recording
  • AI-enhanced image processing

6.77-inch 120Hz AMOLED display

The Nothing Phone 4b features a 6.77-inch Super AMOLED display with:

  • 2,000 nits peak brightness

The display is designed to deliver smoother scrolling, improved gaming responsiveness, and better outdoor visibility.

The company estimates the device has a carbon footprint of 54.7kg CO₂e, while the retail packaging is over 99% plastic-free, excluding the paper composite label.
